Professor Zhangxing John Chen is an internationally distinguished engineer and applied mathematician whose research has advanced reservoir simulation, computational modeling, and sustainable energy technologies. At the University of Calgary, he develops mathematical and computational methods for complex subsurface systems, including enhanced energy recovery, carbon capture and storage, and emerging digital and AI-enabled energy applications. His work combines fundamental research with technology development and industrial collaboration. As a member of CARSA’s Advisory Board, Professor Chen provides strategic academic guidance and expert review across engineering, computational science, energy innovation, and applied research.
